Vegetable Soup Extract can be used in any recipe that calls for chicken stock, beef stock, or vegetable stock. It gives food a distinctive flavor. One of the ingredients in this product is called yeast extract, which is an extract of yeast and concentrates the natural glutamate found in yeast to give food a distinctive flavor. Yeast extract is not a whole food and is not considered the best, as Nature's Earth always strives to choose whole foods. The use of yeast extract in organic foods is permitted by the organic food regulatory bodies and meets the requirements of organic foods, as is the case with white sugar and organic white flour. Since we discovered that yeast extract is not a whole food, we have started a new formula that does not use yeast extract, but to date we have not found anything that comes close to this product in taste. This text in this space is part of Nature's Earth policy of transparency and stating all the facts. We at Nature's Earth use this product and love it, but we know that if we could replace the yeast extract we would have a better product. The next step may be to add a new type of this product that does not contain yeast extract, but we have not yet come up with a distinctive taste for such an alternative. The way to use vegetable soup extract is to make a broth that is added to your food according to the recipe used. For example, if the recipe calls for a cup of chicken broth, you can add a cup of water with a teaspoon and a quarter of vegetable soup extract dissolved in it. That is, we put a teaspoon and a quarter for each cup of water added, and this is used as a substitute for chicken, meat or vegetable broth in your favorite recipes. A teaspoon is what is sometimes called a tablespoon (5 ml). Ingredients: Sea salt, yeast extract, corn grits*, onion*, sunflower oil*, carrot*, celery bulb*, yeast, herbs*, spices*, ground mushrooms*. * means a natural binder from seed to mouth.
